Hire a Personal Trainer Keep Breast Cancer at Bay

Obesity and the occurrence of breast cancer have been found to be connected in many cases by scientists in the recent past. Although, the direct relationship is still under some cloud, research shows that fat cells store estrogens which are hormones that trigger tumors and breast cancers. Almost 30% of breast cancer cases are caused by obesity and a bad lifestyle. A personal trainer would help improve the overall health awareness and the importance of striving towards a healthy lifestyle.

A lot of research has been conducted on women with breast cancer in the recent years. One of the more important parameters was the body mass index or the co-relation between weight and height of a woman. Women with body mass index of more than 30 are considered to be obese, while those around 25-29 are considered overweight. Women with breast cancer and a body mass index more than 30 had a survival chance of only around 55% while it was found to be more than 65% for women with normal weight. Hence it is advisable for women with higher body mass index to hire a personal trainer and ensure they are not overweight, to keep breast cancer at bay.

One of the main cancer causing compounds called Xenestrogens is stored by the fat cells of obese women. This estrogen-like compound usually results from pollution in the environment and resides in the extra fat cells thus proving dangerous for the person. Women who have experienced menopause are more likely to develop breast cancer. The body hormone levels of estrogen and testosterone are high during this period and overweight doubles the risk that such women have of acquiring breast cancer. Obesity also reduces the chances of a woman surviving any form of major surgery. Other forms of analysis suggest that an increased number of fat cells lead to delay in detection of breast cancer which is likely to be discovered at a much later time, when it is practically less treatable.

Obesity and a greater number of fat cells increase the chances of breast cancer in those who dont have it and reduce the chances of survival in those who already have it. Hiring a personal trainer is a good step in the right direction. A personal trainer will ensure that the extra calories are burnt out and that the fat cell content in the body is optimum. This will avoid storage of estrogen and other tumor causing hormones in the very least. A personal trainer will also keep a tab on the diet of the person. Bad diet and unhealthy lifestyles are two important causes of obesity and bringing in discipline in ones eating habits and eliminating inactivity is extremely important.

Another form of breast cancer known as inflammatory breast cancer is even more dangerous because it is more likely to spread to other parts of the body even before it is diagnosed and detected. Its survival rates are hence low, proving to be especially dangerous for obese women. In this form of breast cancer, the cancer cells block the lymph vessels. This causes the skin of the breast to look swollen and red. Healthy women have 15% chance of acquiring it while the chances double for overweight women and treble for obese women. It has also been found out that women who gained a lot of pounds after turning 18 are more likely to develop breast cancer compared to those who havent put on any weight.

Since obesity leads to breast cancer and in most cases reduces the chances of surviving it, it is extremely important that women take all the advice from a personal trainer to ensure that they dont gain unhealthy weight increasing their body mass index and leading to one form or the other of breast cancer.
