What might cause this?
My doctor’s are baffled. I’m 23 and the entire origin of my female organs (vagina, cervix, uterus, philopian tubes, ovaries, etc.) are swollen?! and Painful?! I have the beginnings of Cervical Cancer which was caused by 2 forms of HPV. I also have PCOS and don’t have a normal cycle in fact I typically don’t menstruate but once or twice a year. Also, I have some large lumps in my breasts that are tender and sore as well as my nipples will not stop sticking straight out!! (not normal for me) What might cause all of these symptoms?? Also I’m taking clomid a fertility drug so that my husband and I might be able to have a child. Symptoms have started 1 and 1/2 months after starting this medication. 3 weeks age. I’m scheduled for a laproscopy and a endoscopy on tuesday of next week to see what might be causing this. Any thoughts on what it might be??
They are doing an exploritory surgery on Tuesday to see what it is. My HPV is NOT dormant it never has been. I got it 3 years ago. I’ve already had 1 operation to remove most of my cervix.
mammo is tommorow with an ultrasound. This is the 4th doctor I’ve been to, hence “doctors are baffled” We are trying for a baby now due to the cancer is cured in one way and one way only for me by removing it. I’ve had cancer before I don’t react well to radiation nor chemo.
My body can’t tolerate it.

Does anyone besides myself think that hair transplant surgery should be covered by health insurance?
I am a 24 year old male suffering from rapid male-pattern hair loss.
My hair started falling out somewhere between ages 18-20, and despite always having a lot of heart, will-power, and self-confidence, it has been a very freightening and depressing road.
It has come to the point where I can’t leave my house without wearing a hat. In fact, even at home I wear a hat if any of my family or friends are around.
Basically, I find it very disappointing that ‘genetic’ hair loss is one of the least prioritised and most underfunded medical ‘mysteries’ out there. I find it even more disappoiting that most of the supposed ‘treatments’ on the market are complete scams, and that the few that are legitimate such as full-out hair tranplantation are so damned expensive!
And of course… worst of all, it is most disappointing that hair transplant surgery itself isn’t covered by insurance because of its ‘cosmetic’ benefits.
Sure, any surgery that changes the way you look can be considered a “cosmetic” surgery. Like a paint job on a car! And of course, no car insurance provider is going to dish out money for you to get your car repainted, simply because you decided you wanted to try out a new color… but when the little old lady who bought way too many groceries and suffers from arthritis rockets her shopping cart into your car, isn’t your insurance provider right there to help you get it fixed?
That’s a little bit of an imaginitive analogy but, I mean, it’s not exactly like I wanted my hair to fall out!
And sure, if someone like me could argue that hair transplant surgery shouldn’t be considered a “cosmetic” surgery, and/or should be at the very least, partially covered by my health insurance… than that’s to say the same about ANY self-improving surgery right?
Well… not really… because when it comes to hair transplants, you’re dealing with an entirely different level of self-improvement.
For instance, breast implants. Just like penile implants/enhancements, pectoral implants, or botox, you’re talking about “improving” or ADDING something that never existed in the first place. You’re literally adding objects(made up of various plastics, and chemicals) to your body simply because you didn’t like the way your body developed.
Let’s face it, this is America… land of the free, home of the greedy. Everyone ‘wants’ the next best thing… and everyone wants to look better, thinner, cooler, stronger… etc. than everyone else. Right? And if we feel that maybe nature was wrong, and we should have been made well-endowed we can all simply throw thousands of dollars into plastic surgery! (Yay!)
But …on the contrary… hair-loss sufferers all “used to” have a full head of hair. Every single person, with the exception of those with rare diseases are born with a healthy, growing, full head of hair. And if we grow up, and we don’t like the way it looks… thank god for hair salons and hairspray!
But trust me, it’s a very dramatic and disgustful realization that you’re losing one of your best features. Especially for someone like me, who never wants more than he has… and always loved his natural face, body, and soul…
But now I’m a 24 year old male suffering from rapid male pattern hair loss. Now I want, not what I don’t have, but what I used to have… what I feel that I should… have… a full head of hair.
To me, hair loss isn’t “natural” … if it were, we’d ALL lose our hair in our early 20′s. “Genetics”, they say… but you know what else is a genetic predisposition? Diabetes… Thyroid Conditions… Heart Disease… Cancers…
I do not want to be completely bald and helpless by age 30. Either they need to find a CURE for male pattern baldness, OR they need to make hair transplant surgeries ACTUALLY affordable(or covered by insurance, obviously).
*Sigh*
Do you agree? Input, input, input…
Side note: I’m tired of hearing all about how bald men are sexy!
We’re all entitled to our opinions… but I’m not one of those people who just goes “Well, at least shaving my head would be in style!” *buzz*
I used to have beautiful, thick golden brown hair… not only did it go with my personality, but it covered up my naturally bumpy skull!
“Some” men can pull off a shaved head… and typically the ones that do… actually have a full head of hair. If they wanted to, they could not shave it, and it would all grow in evenly, over their entire scalp…
If I shaved my head, and waited a few days, it would come back in all patchy and gross looking…
When it comes down to it, this isn’t a matter of trying to make sure I’m in-style… this is me wanting to hold onto one of my few great natural born physical features.
And I’m not comparing Hair Loss with terminal diseases. Health insurance typically covers treatment for those, as it should…
:/

He thinks it’s him… but I know it’s me :(?
We’ve been ttc for 6 months… I haven’t had a period for 3.
He thinks its his little men with “problems” as well as my messed up hormones (which the doctor won’t treat… he put me on the pill a couple of months ago before I start fertility treatment to regulate my hormones a bit, but he says I can’t start it til my next period, which I haven’t had).
My amazing fiance doesn’t moan about the struggle we’re having doing this, he says he loves me no matter what, but when we go out and see teenage mothers, or indeed any family with young children, I can see the hurt in his eyes, and the guilt is eating me up inside, as well as my inner hatred for myself.
I’m constantly getting cramps, but my GP just put it down to IBS and gave me pills. These cramps arise every two weeksish, but sometimes I get the odd twinge. My breasts sometimes get sore but not on a regular basis. I’m going to push the fact that I want a scan to see whether I’ve got ovarian cysts or cancer (worst case scenario), next time I go to GP, but he’ll probably just laugh it off like he usually does.
Btw, I really admire all the lovely people that have been trying for ages and never give up, you guys are the inspiration for me continuing this and not just throwing the towel in and giving up ![]()
Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with my man problems over this (I’m sure it’s not his little men, his father had 5 kids no problem lol), and natural ways of ttc, and increasing chances of ovulation? I have a balanced diet… although i sometimes have too much dairy products. I’m not overweight though, and I don’t have any other major health problems, other than my lack of periods… which runs in the family… but my mother and grandmother never had periods so irregular as mine.
I’m more relaxed about it now than I was, and I’ve stopped worrying so much, but I don’t want us to suffer any more trauma over this.
Help?

Butter versus Oleo and Margarine?
Pass The Butter Please.
THIS IS INTERESTING …….
Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had funded all the research wanted to be paid back so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavorings.
DO YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter?
Read on to the end…it gets very interesting!
Both have the same number of calories.
Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.
Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.
Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!
Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.
Butter has been around for centuries whereas margarine has been around for less than 100 years.
And now, for Margarine…
Very high in trans fatty acids.
Triple risk of coronary heart disease.
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.
Lowers quality of breast milk.
Decreases immune response.
Decreases insulin response.
And here’s the most disturbing fact….
HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!
Margarine is only ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..
This fact alone is enough for me to avoid margarine for the rest of my life, and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).
You can try this yourself:
Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or a shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:
* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something).
* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weensy microorganisms will not a find a home to grow in. Why? Because it is one molecule away from being plastic, remember? Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?
Share This With Your Friends….. (If you want to “butter them up”)!
Chinese Proverb:
“When someone shares something of value with you, and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.
So be kind and share this with everyone you
Harley Lady, yes I use Smart Butter due to my husband’s heart condition
Wally, so I’ve heard. I am a meat eater though. Sorry

Help with my essay on drug abuse?
I have to write an essay on drug abuse. I’m in middle school BTW. Please help and tell me what you think. Here it is.
I know what you thinking. Oh, great. Another ‘Drugs are bad! ‘, Speech. But even if you have your doubts, they’re more important then you know!
Now I’m going to talk about different types of drugs. For instance, Marijuana is actually very popular. You would probably know it by ‘weed ‘, ‘pot’, and ‘grass’. But guess what? It’s illegal! Bad. Being caught having the drug can very easily lead you to jail. Here’s a fun fact. In 2006, 25 million Americans age 12 and older had abused marijuana at least once in the year prior to being surveyed. A survey showed that 10.3% of 8th graders, 24.6% of 10th graders, and 31.7% of 12th graders had abused marijuana at least once in the year. Just think, a kid in your class could be on drugs. Just think, that’s just ONE drug. Let’s take a look at Nicotine. Nicotine is the drug in tobacco leaves. One pure drop could kill someone! Nicotine is in cigarettes. It is also chewed, spit, and sniffed as Tobacco. More than 3 and one-half million teens between the ages of 12 and 17 use tobacco-that’s about 15 percent of teens that age. Of those, just over 3 million, or 13 percent, smoke cigarettes. In the U.S., 66.5 million people, or about 29 percent of the population, use tobacco. Wow. Even I had that face of shock when I read that. I’m eleven, almost twelve. And to know that twelve year olds use tobacco? Drugs. Six years ago they were in kindergarten playing house, or tag! I’m going to talk about another common drug called Steroids. Steroids are used to build muscles. Great huh? Get some killer abs, impress the girls . . . Lets see the side effects, eh? Acne, stunt in growth, high blood pressure, trembling, and a rare liver disease. For girls, they can grow facial hair, baldness and a deepened voice. For guys, a type of cancer, and development of breasts. Behavior can include mood swings. Thankfully, few teens have used steroids. Most teens are smart and stay away from steroids. As part of a 2008 survey teens were asked if they ever tried steroids—even once. Only 1.4% of 8th and 10th graders ever tried steroids and 2.2% of 12th graders. However, among those who do abuse them steroid abuse is higher among males than females but is growing most rapidly among young women. Abuse is also well known to occur in a number of professional sports, including fields such as bodybuilding and baseball.
Now I am going to talk about how addictive drugs are. One hit. Oh, it’s no big deal. Before you know it you take another hit. Eh. Third hit . . . you’re hooked. Drugs are very addictive. Most commonly cigarettes are. Patches and medicine have been suggested, but they can fail quite easily. So? You might be wondering, why don’t they just quit? Here’s the thing . . . They CAN’T! Nicotine for example, is highly addictive. Your body begins to need it. Do you remember when you had to break the habit of depending on your pacifier? Or sucking your thumb? Picking your nose? Biting your nails? Even picking at a scab. Drug abuse becomes a HABIT. You begin to DEPEND on it. You begin to NEED it. To feel good. Most abused drugs produce intense feelings of pleasure. This initial sensation of euphoria is followed by other effects, which differ with the type of drug used. For example, with stimulants such as cocaine, the “high” is followed by feelings of power, self-confidence, and increased energy. To feel better. Some people who suffer from social anxiety, stress-related disorders, and depression begin abusing drugs in an attempt to lessen feelings. To do better. The increasing pressure that some individuals feel to chemically enhance or improve their athletic or cognitive performance. Curiosity and “because others are doing it.” In this respect adolescents are particularly vulnerable because of the strong influence of peer pressure. These are all some reason people take drugs.
Now I’m going to tell you some ways to tell if someone is abusing drugs. If a person fits under this category, I suggest you talk to person, or contact a parent, family member, or even the school principal. Physical Signs: Change in sleeping patterns ,Bloodshot eyes Slurred or agitated speech, Sudden or dramatic weight loss or gain, Skin abrasions/bruises, Neglected appearance/poor hygiene, Sick more frequently ,Accidents or injuries, Behavioral Signs: Hiding use; lying and covering up, Sense that the person will “do anything” to use again regardless of consequences ,Loss of control or choice of use (drug-seeking behavior), Loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities, Emotional instability, Hyperactive or hyper-aggressive, Depression , Missing school or work, Failure to fulfill responsibilities at school or work, Complaints from teachers or co-workers, Reports of intoxication at school or work, Furtive or secretive behavior, Avoiding eye contact, Locked doors, Going out every night, Change in friends

Men and Women, what do you think about circumcision?
There is NO medical necessity for a circumcision and was once only for religious purposes, but, today, it is being used as an aesthetically pleasing “excuse”. The father wants son to look “just like dad” and there are lies such as: penises are easier to keep clean…it reduces the risk of cancer… bull. The procedure is done with the infant strapped down by the arms and legs, and done without any anesthesia, these little boys don’t even have a choice. As if birth wasn’t enough work, they are swept away to be brutally mutilated without any pain killers. ( as if it would be any more justifiable with them ) If mothers could actually see this procedure before they even thought about it or considered doing this to her newborn son, I think she would be scared sh*tless and horrified that she even thought of it as a possiblility. Some men argue, that if it is not done at birth, they might “have” to do it later in life, and it will hurt a lot more. Atleast it would be their CHOICE, as we all know about women getting their labias “clipped” to look “prettier” and getting breast implants and etc. I think most mothers are uneducated on the subject, and they really don’t do a hell of a job at the hospital informing you. Most just want their son to “fit in” But the fact is, only HALF of the little men being born in the united states are having this atrocity preformed on them. Cutting off what’s natural….wtf?
Here’s food for thought: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q_UWlvoTHc&feature=related
what is your take on this, guys and gals?
I think it IS a feminist issue. WE are expected to twist and turn to the expectations of societies view of how our bodies should look. If we press this on our sons, HOW does that reflect back on us? We cannot press the same views on our sons, that normalcy is not…normal!
We have been fighting for the rights over our bodies, I think men should have the same respect.
