Medical Terms for Breast Cancer Research?
I am looking over a journal entry on breast cancer. I was wondering if someone could give me some definitions for the following terms.
What is ERa? ERa positive and ERa negative when it comes to cells?
What does ERa status mean?
ER is for Estrogen Receptor. ER positive means the tumor grows more quickly in the presence of Estrogen. ER negative means the tumor does not react to Estrogen.
Not familiar with the “a” designation.
