My friend just told me she has breast cancer stage 3. She’s 17..?
What can i say to comfort her?
Shes already lost one boob and keeps saying she looks like a freak.

This won’t help you much becuase I have no idea what to say to comfort her but tell her that you will continue to pray for her and that you are there for her if she needs you at any time.
just be there for her. tell her no you are not a freak and tell her is is beautiful
just being there as her friend is a comfort. i’ll pray for both of you. god bless.
i can only echo what others have said.
be a good friend to your mate, stick by her. pick her up any time she feels down, re-assure her that she is “normal” and beautiful.
keep strong and your friend too. a girl i know sadly passed away today after battling with cancer for 3 years. ive never met anyone with so much determination to beat this illness (except my sister also). she was a true inspiration to us all, and hopefully your friend will do the same.
enjoy life while you can, and ensure your mate enjoys hers too. she is not a freak. she is couragous.
If this is the case I’m very sorry; just be a friend and be there for her.
However I’m very sceptical – though I don’t know whether to be sceptical of you or her.
Breast cancer is almost unheard of in people under 25; it’s rare in women under 40 in fact. 80% of people diagnosed with it are over 50.
And stage 3 is advanced cancer. Even in the exceptionally unusual circumstances of a teenager developing breast cancer, it’s hard to see how it could have reached stage 3 in so little time – it develops over years.
And you say this is a recurrence, or possibly a new primary – she has already had breast cancer once, and already had a mastectomy before the age of 17?
As someone who has had stage three breast cancer, and a mastectomy – I feel there is some untruth or exaggeration somewhere in this story
