The American Cancer Society has close connections to the mammography industry. Their actions reflect the interests of the major manufacturers of mammogram machines and films. A huge percentage of all the money they raise for “finding a cure” is really redirected to funding “free breast cancer screenings” that target poor women. Meanwhile studies are emerging indicating that mammography screenings actually increase the risk of developing cancer.
