Vanderbilt Breast Center and the Susan G. Komen for a Cure hosted Ms. Senior America 2009, Gail King, at a brunch for long-term breast cancer survivors. King was treated for breast cancer in the mid-70s at age 25. Also present were Ms. Senior Tennessee Pat Alford and Ms. Senior America 2008 Olivia Haley. Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center’s Anne Washburn also presented information on the Center’s REACH for Survivorship Program for cancer survivors.

Samantha Watson has dedicated more than two decades of her life to sports. At age 23 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent five months of grueling chemotherapy. Samantha recently celebrated her one-year anniversary of her first clear scan and has raised $15000 for cancer-related charities. Her motto is, Incurable means curable from within.
