Morning Market Snapshot: August 27, 2010
“Good Morning. It’s Friday, August 27, 2010. At this hour, US equity futures are up. Overseas, the Asian markets were mixed, while the European markets are down. Dell increased its bid for 3Par (PAR) to $27 per share, or an enterprise value of $1.8B, an 11% premium above the most recent price offered by Hewlett-Packard…Boeing (BA) said that it now expects delivery of the first 787 in the middle of Q1 of 2011. The delivery date revision follows an assessment of the availability of an engine needed for the final phases of flight test this fall…Genentech (RHHBY) announced the FDA issued a Refuse to File letter for accelerated approval for the company’s trastuzumab-DM1, or T-DM1, Biologics License Application. In its review of the BLA, the FDA stated the T-DM1 trials did not meet the standard for accelerated approval because all available treatment choices approved for metastatic breast cancer, regardless of HER2 status, had not been exhausted in the study population…Gannett’s (GCI) USA Today confirmed an organizational restructuring, which affects the newspaper’s business operations and newsroom. In one major change, the newsroom will be broken into “”content rings,”" headed by editors who will be appointed later this year.”
