Pablove Across America day 20 morning dedication

Today’s dedication goes out to Karen Reycraft from Miami. She went through breast cancer treatment six years ago, and has recently had a cancer-related follow-up procedure. Karen is the mother of Dangerbird intern Melissa Perez. In an interesting twist on The Pablove Foundation’s focus on children, this is a situation where cancer has affected the adult child of a cancer patient.

18-year Old Creates Breast Cancer Support Site in Dedication to His Sick Mother

Janie Canei is battling Breast Cancer for the second time, this time in

her lungs, neck, and brain. She is presently considered terminally ill,

but she remains positive and focused on getting better with the support of

her son Matthew. Matthew, who is an 18-year old college student at

Savannah College of Art and Design-Atlanta, had the idea to create an

online environment that would provide motivation, inspiration, and support

for not only his mother, but for anyone in a similar predicament.

He created FacesForACure.com to be a huge online “wall” in which visitors

purchase space on this wall to place a photo of themselves or a loved one

who has ever battled cancer. Matthew’s invisions a huge digital

composition with hundreds, potentially even thousands of survivors or

cancer fighters digitally side-by-side creating a large spectacle, which

he believes will leave the viewer feeling motivated, and inspired to

continue their battle against the disease.

Matthew did not want this site to only benefit his mother, but also all of society. He vowed that no less

than 50% of all proceeds from the wall will be donated to breast cancer

research, to aid in the discovery of a cure. His site can be visited at

http://www.facesforacure.com. Matthew looks forward to your future

contributions to the wall, as he will stop at nothing to see his vision in

the flesh.
