Florida Hospital Flagler Cancer Rehab_As Aired on Channel 6 and 9_September 2010
Florida Hospital Flagler now offers cancer patients a new option in care when it comes to offsetting the health issues they face as a result of their cancer treatments or the cancer itself. Typically, cancer patients need therapy after surgery has been performed, but there are cases when it is appropriate for a patient to have therapy before, during or after radiation treatment, or any time during chemotherapy. Sometimes, cancer survivors can benefit from therapy years after their cancer treatments. One such patient benefitting from this new service is Flagler Beach resident, Karen Miller, who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and was confined to a wheelchair. Now with Florida Hospital Flagler’s cancer rehab program, Karen has her independence back and has even progressed so far to be able to work out at the YMCA. View the video to see Karen’s whole story.

Hello from the Hospital
Message to my family and friends from the when i was in the Hospital. It explains what is going on with me and my disease. I am 27yrs old and in February 2010 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. It is very rare for someone of my age to have such an extreme cancer. I want to help raise more awareness for young women to get checked and to do self checks as well. I don’t know if I could have caught it sooner or not. I just know that I will not let this ruin me or bring me down. I am a fighter and even though there is no cure for my cancer it can be made manageable and I can do it! My family and friends have been such a HUGE support and help its wonderful! I plan on making many more video blogs! Im a newby at this! Thank you!
