Girls Who Eat Too Much Meat May Enter Puberty Early and Suffer from Breast Cancer

According to report of foreign media, scientists said that meat-rich diet may make girls enter puberty earlier and increase their risk of breast cancers and heart diseases.

This study investigated more than 3000 girls and found that those girls who had taken in a lot of meat and protein were more likely to enter puberty at 12 years and a half. Scientists suggest that too early puberty may increase the risk of suffering from many diseases such as breast cancers, ovarian cancer, heart diseases and so on.

The study conducted by the University of Brighton East Sussex, UK, found that 49% of those girls who take in more than 12 shares per week when they are 7 years old enter puberty at 12 and a half year old. Meanwhile, only 35% of girls who take in no more than 4 shares of meat per week at the same age enter puberty at 12 and a half year old.

This study also found that the possibility of entering puberty of girls who took in more than 8 shares of meat per week when they were 3 years old is larger. A share of meat means the normal meat intake in a meal of a child. Therefore, the share of meat of a child who is three is less than that of a seven years old child. Meat snacks like a ham sandwich is equal to half a share. Roasted meat on Sunday contain a while share.

Dr. Imogene Rogers, the author of this paper and the senior lecturer of School of Pharmacy, University of Brighton, reminds that parents should decline the amount of meat in their daughter’s diet. She said:” Meat is a good source of many important nutrients such as iron and zinc so that there is not even a reason for girls insisting on vegetarian food and trusting that moderate intake of meat does not constitute an important part of a balanced diet of children.”

She suggested that pregnant women need a large number of zinc and iron which means that diet rich in meat can prepare for pregnancy. “We can regard diet rich in meat as an appropriate nutrition condition of successful pregnancy.” She said that before a final conclusion they should repeat the experiment among other groups.

However, Rogers said that “results of these studies show that avoiding of eating too much meat is good for our body.” This study was funded by the World Cancer Research Fund. The result of the study was published on the magazine of “Public Health Nutrition”. The average age of girls entering into puberty in the 20th century has declined obviously and this may be related to their easy access to meat. At present, the average age of girls entering puberty is 12 and this has been stabilized.

do i have breast cancer or is this part of puberty?

OK, I’ve asked this question b4 but no-one answered it.

i’ve got a rash in between my breasts, kind of mossy texture i suppose. it’s a bit red, but most of the time skin coloured. it’s spreading ever so slightly downwards, and when i take a hot shower it gos blazing red.

is it some fungus hting, or is it cancer?

i’m 15 and i really don’t want to go to the doctors, so any answers that tell me to go to the doctor i will ignore.
