Patient Success Story: Beatrice Afrangui
Breast cancer survivor Beatrice Afrangui, MD considers herself very lucky. She was a 30-year-old surgical intern when she first discovered a lump in her breast and was diagnosed with interductal invasive carcinoma. She subsequently experienced two additional cancer diagnoses (one in her other breast and a thyroid cancer, both thankfully found at an early stage), was successfully treated at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center, and gave birth to a healthy son in 2001.
